A lot has happened since I last updated the ol’ blog. I guess the biggest thing was that I went on tour out to the east coast of Canada once again this spring! Theo came along with me this time to add some percussion to the set, and together we had a blast. I can definitely say this was the best tour yet. We hit as many micro breweries as we could, appeared on television a few times (no car chases or public nudity), made some new friends, and drank with the Beau’s team. Theo conducted multiple experiments on the limits of how much I like him to how much I want to hit him by stealing my beer whenever he had the chance. A homeless dude called me Jesus then followed me down the street asking me to heal him, and I discovered ‘guy on a buffalo’ which I love and hate Marcus from East Coast Love Story for showing me.
A little anecdote from the road.
So one night, I park the van in a parking lot so we can sleep. As we set up the bedding and lay down, Theo points out that I parked on a bit of a slant and where our heads would be was on the bottom end of the slope. I explain that I’m too tired to fix it so Theo switched his sleeping direction so our feet are at each other’s heads. In the middle of the night, I receive a swift kick in the face, to which I exclaim, “Fuck!” Theo abruptly half wakes up and says, “Did I just kick you in the face?” I assure him quickly that this in fact was true. Theo then chuckles and abruptly falls right back to sleep. In the morning while we’re waking up and having our first coffee, he turns to me and says, “Did I kick you in the face or something last night?” I just stared at him.
The tour was definitely more fun and a lot more interesting as a duo. I may have to do it again next time, but I’m bringing a helmet and a taser with me as protection against Theo.
Thanks so much to everyone who listened to, talked to, and housed our sorry asses. I’ll be back soon for sure!
Until the next time I remember to write something, I love your smiling face.
For today's photo, here's an action shot of us living in a van down by the river.
